Cleaning and Care of the Nasal Passages

I am happy to be back and continue to share more information with you, and I hope that you will find it useful for enjoying a healthy life.
Ayurveda, as we said, is a holistic science. Our Breath, the vital energy called Prana or Chi in Chinese, is one of our body’s fundamental forces. Our present lifestyle during the pandemic, especially now that we are wearing masks, makes it very important to think about breathing.
When we are born, we begin to breathe and when this journey is over, on our last day on Earth, our breathing stops. It is very important to be aware of our breathing. Every day when you wake up, with your first breaths, please feel joy and gratitude for being alive. There are many important ways of cleaning and taking care of your nasal passages in order to improve the way we breathe.
The two nostrils with the fine hair growth within them form the passage for inhalation and exhalation. The fine hair growth ensures the proper passage of incoming air, which is absolutely indispensable for life. The nasal passage should be cleaned every day. While bathing or taking your shower, blow your nose forcibly two or three times, so all the accumulated dirt is thrown out and the nostrils are rinsed. Ayurveda also recommends sniffing or sneezing. Sneezing removes nasal obstruction and opens the related passages. One easy way to cause a sneeze is to sniff black pepper, something that is easily available everywhere.
A common daily preventive practice against dryness of the nasal passages, is to place a bit of olive or coconut oil inside your nostrils with the tips of your fingers and inhale gently. In the beginning it might make you sneeze, but this practice can be very helpful in preventing nasal infections.
Home Remedy Recipe: A good cure for dry cough during this season.
1tsp fresh ginger juice
3 semi-crushed black peppercorns
2 spoons honey
Take this dose twice a day, especially at night before you go to bed.
This is a time to stay anchored and centred, to take care of our health, to be kind to ourselves.
Take care of your Immune system by loving yourself, by eating healthy food, especially fresh vegetables and fruit, and drinking plenty of fresh, pure water. It is a moment to be stress-free. Do simple exercises and stretching, yogic breathing and laugh and dance! To boost the immune system, you have to love yourself, be kind to yourself, take care of yourself and forgive yourself.
The immune system needs plenty of vitamin C. I suggest taking supplements like Organic Amla, which is high in vitamin C, and can help to boost your immune system. It is also good for the lungs, especially during this season when the climate is changing. This supplement is also anti-stress and antioxidant, especially in combination with vitamin E and selenium.
Hope to meet you all again on my next post. Wish health and luck to everyone.
