Self-Awareness

Conciencia en si mismo

I’m happy to be with you again. I am thinking about all of us waking up each morning like a spring flower, happy and radiant.

It is important to teach yourself self-awareness, in a way that will lead to consciousness and wholesomeness of your being. Especially during the past two years since 2020, we are all aware of what is happening around the world, all the news and all the behaviour of people around us affects us. Every day we are aware of changes in the political world, of natural disasters and the huge pandemic, which can have a huge effect on us and our health, and we need to develop a somatic consciousness to stop automatism. It is important to self-examine to acquire a sensitivity towards yourself in order to detect very minor and still subjective symptoms in our health. The basis of preventive medicine like Ayurveda is to stop an ailment before it expresses itself fully.

Every morning when you wake up, you must examine yourself very carefully in the mirror. You will notice that there are slight variations in your looks from one day to another. There are days when you wake up with a healthy, cheerful and radiant look, and on other days you may notice that your face and eyes are slightly swollen or that there are bags under your eyes. You might have an expression of fatigue or a pale and lustreless expression, dull eyes, or a white coating on your tongue. You must learn to correlate your looks to the factors responsible for your condition, and try to eliminate the causes of a tired, unhealthy expression. Especially now in 2020-2021, many people were shut up at home, working from home, where we ate the wrong foods, eating dinner late at night, sleeping badly, with worries, fear, acidity and indigestion, eating too many sweets – in short, with as much stress as if we were being chased by a lion. Of course all of this will have a negative effect on our health and wellbeing. These effects vary with different people, but I am trying to convince all of you to be heathy, to avoid too much stress and fatigue. Try to get enough physical exercise, listen to music, dance, laugh, and try to eat properly. Be sure to eat lightly in the evening, drink enough water, get enough sleep at night, and then you should wake up like a flower.

As summer is coming, everybody wants to reduce weight, so here are some tips. One of the best remedies that we use in Ayurveda is lemon juice and honey water, which is very beneficial for losing weight. One tsp. of honey should be mixed with the juice of half a lemon in a glass of warm water, taken in the early morning. To detox the system, try to fast for a day or a day and a half while taking this honey water at regular intervals.

Plenty of tomatoes are available now, they are good for combating obesity. Take one or two ripe tomatoes in the early morning, after the lemon juice and honey, as a substitute for breakfast. Do this continuously for 6 weeks. This is another a very good method for weight reduction, and supplies food elements essential for health.

This spring, to make your immune system strong, try to practice gratitude! For your general health, Amla is an important herb for the eyes and good for preventing allergies. In the spring, since pollen and other irritants can cause our eyes to water, this complement for boosting immunity is excellent.

Hope to meet you all again on my next post. Wish health and luck to everyone.
